Russia is in the top three for Bitcoin mining

As Chinese miners have stopped mining bitcoins, the leading position in mining the main cryptocurrency has shifted to the United States. Russia ranked third in the world in Bitcoin mining.

Specialists from Cambridge University conducted a study that identified the top three countries in the field of mining BTC:

  1. U.S. – 35.4% (of the total amount of bitcoins mined in the world).
  2. Kazakhstan – 18%.
  3. Russia – 11%.

China’s share decreased from 46% to 0 for four months. This situation is explained by strict restrictions related to the mining and use of cryptocurrencies in China. As a result of strict measures on the part of the government, miners in China were forced to move their computing power to other countries.
