In February 2021 the company MetaQuotes, the largest developer of trading platforms for forex brokers, warned about the upcoming changes in pricing policy. The innovations will primarily affect White Labels and MetaTrader terminals. The company plans to provide access to these services on a subscription basis instead of issuing a license.
Previously, the price of the MT5 Server license fluctuated between $20,000 and $250,000; the rights to MT4/MT5 White label cost $5,000 to $7,500. MetaQuotes plans to make its products more accessible to novice brokers. But they will have to pay monthly for the whole set of platforms (web, mobile, desktop). In total, such an option will cost more than a one-time license purchase.
Beginner brokers should consider which option would be more profitable: a White Label with a set of all necessary options or a fully licensed server. If a company chooses the first option, it can purchase a full license in the future.
The provider of software for brokers also plans to review the compliance policy. Special attention will be paid to new clients who are going to work on forex trading platforms MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5. Previously, the White Label agreement was available to all brokers registered in England, Singapore, Hong Kong and other countries. However, companies were not always licensed. In the future MetaQuotes clients will have to present documents confirming their right to provide services in the jurisdiction of a certain country.
